The album "For Why" was recorded in the Summer of 2020 in Bentonville, Arkansas. The title comes from my wife and I...it's shorthand for the many times this year we've asked ourselves why something so seemingly avoidable has been happening...obviously the extent of the pandemic, but also many other social and political challenges that have been made so much more difficult by the decisions of corrupt leadership, a misguided public, and a host of other factors. We don’t know anyone who hasn’t lost family or friends over the course of this difficult year.
But the title can also be read as a dedication: the album is "for" why...dedicated to whatever the source of what we call existence is, in the spirit of embracing a life full of questions we'll never know the answer to, and finding ways to keep calm and reflect in the midst of chaos. It is in that spirit that the music on this album was made.
My gratitude goes to the listeners, my family and friends, and especially to Edmund Osterman of Screener and everyone at Cyclical Dreams for the endless support.
